Hey everyone! My name is Stephanie. I have a B.A. in English and a M.A. in English. I've had lots of experience blogging and with social media (see the next section). I love to read and I'm basically a book hoarder at this point. I also love to travel and I can't wait to see as much of the world as possible.
There is a big part of me that I don't talk about or share with other people very often, if ever. I suffer from mental illness and every day is a new battle. I was first diagnosed and started on medication when I was 16. Next year (2020) will mark my 20th year since being diagnosed and starting treatment. Sadly, I'm way past having dealt with this for over half my life now. So, I know what I'm talking about and what others are struggling with.
I've been diagnosed with several types including major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder with anxiety attacks, panic disorder with panic attacks (Yes! They are different from each other, which is one of the things I'll be talking about), social anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder. If you don't know what these are, you can Google them or feel free to get in touch with me. I'll happily talk more about them and tell you my story, if you want.
Sadly, there is still a huge stigma surrounding mental illness and it makes life almost impossible for those of us who live with it. I want to help reduce the stigma, along with educating people about different disorders and helping those who are suffering too. I'm going to be creating several courses dedicated to these issues, so stay tuned for those. Telling people able my mental illness is one of the hardest things for me and if I have to suffer with them, then I at least want to help others understand the truth and find ways to live their lives the best they can.
I have been running a successful book blog for the past 7.5 years. I've had the opportunity to work with several major publishers and authors to promote and review their books.
I'm also a social media influencer and have worked with several large companies including Target, Hallmark, ID Discovery, Suave, and GNC (to name a few).
My ultimate goals are to travel the world as much as possible while reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and helping anyone that is effected by it. I want to show everyone that just because you have a mental illness doesn't mean you can't follow your dreams and conquer your fears!
